Yes, the slope must be less than 10 degrees in order to follow the instructions. Refer to the product-specific slope installation information for anything greater than 10 degrees. 

No, it’s up to the buyer - you can find trim and decorative molding at your local hardware store or lumber yard and paint or stain it to match your space.

Here are some trim installation considerations:

• Choose molding wide enough to cover the expansion gap in any plank edge.

• Paint or stain your molding prior to installation. 

• Install molding at the joint between the ceiling and wall. Nail your molding to the wall, not to the plank or tile. Nail the molding to the wall stud at least every 24”.

The Easy Up® Installation System consists of 2 items which are sold separately; tracks and clips. When you order the Easy Up® Installation System you will see 2 products checked and adjustable quantities for each. This is because multiple products are compatible with the system. For example, clips can be used without the tracks to cover an existing 15/16” ceiling grid with WoodHaven™ Planks. Reference this guide to find your product and how many of each you should order based on your room’s square footage. Note that:

• 1 carton of 96” surface mount ceiling track includes 20 tracks

• 1 carton of 1” surface mount ceiling clips includes 135 clips

There are many parts and pieces in a grid system. See the image above for the anatomy of a drop ceiling grid system.

A. Main Beams carry the load of the grid system, typically 12’ or 6’.
B. Cross Tees are the supporting grid pieces that attach perpendicular to the main beams, helping  create the 24” x 24” or 24” x 48” openings needed for your tiles.
C. Wall Moldings are used as finishing trim to hang against the walls in the space.
D. Ceiling Tiles are the tiles used to make up the drop ceiling.
E. Hanger Wires attach to the ceiling joists and are how the main beams and cross tees hang.
F. Plenum is the area or space in between the drop ceiling and the structure above, typically floor  joists or an old ceiling.

Included in the grid system are main beams, wall moldings, cross tees, and hanger wires.

ML and XL® describe how main beams and cross tees attach to one another. The ML is a hook grid system and the XL® is a stab grid system. The XL® is required for seismic and specialty ceiling applications but is also the most common connection type across the United States.

The type of grid system needed is dependent on a few different things. First thing to consider is what size and type of tiles will be used within the space. Another thing to consider is the look you want. We have grid systems available in many styles and sizes. Additionally, you have unique circumstances to consider.
